The famous Kruger Park (pronounced krooger park), located in the province of Mpumalanga, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful of the nine provinces in South Africa. The area is known for its natural beauty and its rich wildlife. To the surface the park is as big as the state of Israel and is the only park in South Africa that are "original" that is, there has been no re-introduction of any species. For this reason you should not of course reject all those other great options.

The South Africans are pushing the envelope on "the Big 5", they're now marketing "the Big 7". That would be the original Big 5 - Lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo, plus whales and sharks. Anyone researching a safari will come across the term "the Big 5" these are the animals that we are supposed to get most excited about seeing.
