The main lodge is built facing two large camelthorn trees, which provide welcome shade in the African heat. The thatched roof lodge opens up to a comfortable lounge and dining area. There is also a bar to enjoy those cool sundowners after a long days safari. An open-air braai with nightly campfires lets you enjoy the magic of African nights. In the main building you can relax with a good book by the fireplace or play a game of billiards with your friends. A beautiful swimming pool offers a respite from the heat of the day.



We can offer you spacious double rooms or a larger suite in the main lodge. In our new SPA you can pamper yourself with a massage, or a relaxing sauna after a long day in the bush.

For those who prefer a more secluded lodging we can offer a separate bungalow, which sleeps four or more. It has a large veranda facing the waterhole, where you can relax, enjoy a sun downer and watch the animals up close! The bathroom is designed to enhance your safari experience, with large windows facing the outdoors. It also includes an open air shower under the stars.

Safari

Imbasa Safari Lodge offers you approximately 2000 hectares of plains safari with over 20 different species of antelope such as Gemsbok (Oryx), Kudu, Wilderbeast, Springbok, and Eland. Other species include zebra, giraffe, warthog, caracal, and a multitude of birds.

And we are next door (5 min) to the new National Park of 20 000 hectares (50 000 acres) where you can see animals such as black rhino, white rhino, buffalo, zebras, giraffes and antelopes, such as Roan antelope and Tsessebe.



At Imbasa there are over 18 different plains game species such as Black Springbok, Kalahari Springbok, Blue Wilderbeest, Black Wilderbeest, Blesbok, Steenbok, Giraffe, Eland, Ostrich, Kudu, Waterbok, Gemsbok and Impala. Other species include Warthog, Lynx, Duiker and Zebra.

A typical safari day starts early, before the sun has risen. You are served a hot cup of coffee or tee and rusks (the traditional South African dry biscuits) before joining your guide in the 4x4 vehicle. As you set of, the sun rises and you will have the chance to experience a great safari! Around 11 o’clock a large brunch is served back at the camp, and thereafter you will have free time to spend as you please. Perhaps by relaxing by the pool, reading a good book, or simply taking a nap. The afternoon kicks off with an afternoon tea, after which you go for the evening game drive. Before the sun sets, you will be served sundowners in the bush. Back at camp the staff is preparing your dinner which will be served after you have had time to freshen up after the long, and hopefully exiting day.
